If you have shot a movie or a short film now its time for its post-production work. The most important process of post-production is a video editing and sound mixing. In this step, you need a good mix of both creativity and technical knowledge. In this blog, I explain about video editing and some simple tips for making your video more attractive.

This is not a complete guide about post-production work. It's just simple tips for video editing that teach you how to edit your video easily within a time range.

1.Select the appropriate software

The first and most important step is must choose a good video editing software for you and your work. Every editing software normally offers everything you need to perform standard video edits. But you may prefer one over others for their features, digital interface, and usability. You should select the software that matches for your work instead of the latest, most advanced video editing program out there. There is a lot of video editing software's are available in today's tech world. After Effects, Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve are the most common video editing tools. If you want to select less popular tool then you try Lightworks, Autodesk Smoke, and Sony Vegas

2. Choose a system with RAM 8GB or Above

I'm not telling about OS or computer brand it's about memory. You can choose whatever computer brand, model or Operating System you want, as long as it’s fast enough for you to store huge files and allows you to focus more on your editing work without having to worry about slow rendering. If you have a good enough memory then that will allow you to access your files and software faster, as well as speed up your rendering, loading, and export times.

3.Edit for a Storyline

You should remember you are going to tell a great story. Go ahead of your professional touch in editing, but don't forget about your creative goal. Use your practical and technical knowledge in achieving this instead of just adding a bunch of effects to impress your viewers.

4.Maintain a professional Workflow

Amazing video editing software and the superfast computer are not enough for good output. You should follow a systematical order for editing and all your post-production work. Organize your project-related files in folders that you can use whenever you want. Save your projects, footage, audio files, images, and graphics, in a folder. You can also use an external hard disk for storage use so you can free up more computer memory.

5.Utilize Keyboard Shortcuts

You can use a keyboard short cut for editing. It saves you time and speeds up your work. Every editing software has keyboard short cuts, you try to use it. These keyword shortcut lists are available on the internet. Also, you can buy an editing keyboard for this purpose.

6.Color correction and Color Grading Process

Video editing software gives you color editing options. Color is a major design element that can be manipulated to highlight certain subjects, evoke specific emotions, and set the mood or atmosphere of your scene. Most video colorists do two things color correction and color grading.
It gives your film a different look. Both are essential when you want most of your scenes to look as realistic as possible, or to differentiate certain scenes from others.

7.Select a Feel Good Music

Music is the most important thing. Don't just focus on the visuals you should also concentrate on music. Feel good music give a video more attractive and eye-catching.
